Here's a lovely photo which Julie has recently sent me, I'm sure most of you will recognise Justin....what a character! Also in the picture are Julie herself and also Sue and Carolyn who will  both be back in Lloret as from tomorrow for a few days.

Ann says for the 2nd one it was BBQ time in the flat she shared (sounds a bit dangerous Ann!) In the photo are - Miguel, Tomas, Nicki, Eva, Bob, Diego and John  to name just a few!

Thanks to Jackie West for todays photos - Jackie sent in her photos after coming across the 'Old Stuff' site and has added a few details about her time in Lloret below -

"I worked in La Cala disco in 1980 along with Linda (Moult) Ely. I've just discovered the Lloret de Mar Old Stuff site and managed to get in touch with Linda after all these years! (I hadn't seen her since 1982 when I went back to Lloret on holiday) . Anyway I kept an album with some of the photos taken in 1980 and I've now managed to scan them in and I'm sending them to you - hopefully they will be of interest."

Thanks to Ron for these photos which he brought over for the 'Old Stuff' when he  was in Lloret for a few days last month. Ron managed  the Cerdanya back in the 70s, these photos are from 1975.

Awful News from Lloret

I'm sure many of you who read the 'Old Stuff' will be shocked and saddened to hear the latest news from over here and that is the very sad death last night of John of 'Roger & Johns' hairdressing salon in Lloret. John had retired about 6 years ago and Roger was working in the salon alone until nearly 2 years ago when he started to work from home in Fenals with his regular clients.  RIP John.

Back to about 1969 -70 with these two black / white photos from Sue. Sue's ex husband Jim Vale is in the top photo (with his arms folded) Other than that I've no idea who the others are, can anyone else add any names. The bottom photo is outside the Istanbul Club which we have seen on many previous photos. The doorway is still there ( below the Esmeralda Hotel) but is now blocked and no longer used.  I often wonder whats behind the doors of the old pubs and clubs in Lloret that have been closed for years, I bet all the fixtures & fittings are still there in many of them...... What a spooky excursion that would be looking around them all !
