Photos from the 50s

Thank you very much to Paul who posted these photos to the Lloret de Mar group page. His parents had their honeymoon in Lloret in 1959 and took these fantastic photos. Paul and his mum will be back in Lloret over Christmas and the New Year to try locate and recognise where the pics were taken.

 A view from Sa Caleta beach, these photos are marked as being from 1980 but could be a little before that I think.

 I'm not sure of the year for the 2 B/W ones below 60's possibly for the 1st one and even earlier for the last!

 Todays photos of the more laid back days from 1960 when there were hardly any homes built on 'Roca Grossa' and also 1975 when Lloret de Mar was well on its way to been the most popular first foreign holiday destination for many of us!

 Todays photos taken from the recent exhibition which I believe date back to about the 1920's and 1 or 2 possibly earlier.

As for this photo above I cant make up my mind when its from...judging by the buildings and the woman on the beach she's wearing what looks like a one piece swim suit so I think it must be a few years later possibly the 50's.

Two black and white views of a wintery Lloret....I hope this isn't a sign of things to come this year! I've no idea of the year - possibly the 1920s??

 At the moment in Lloret there's another exhibition of old photos taking place downstairs in the new library building. These are just a few of the most interesting ones we photographed for the Old Stuff...lots more to come yet!
