Christmas in Lloret

Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope everyone's had a good day today!
Here's a Christmas photo from John McSwan so thought I'd better use this today. I dont have any info for this one, I'm not even sure who is in the photo apart from John!
I like the candle on the table....class eh ??

Just one photo today which I received by email yesterday from Alan Scouler (Thanks Alan).
The year is 1980, and in the photo are Scoo, John, Andres and Micky.

Gerry's Bar again !

Thanks to Lynne for the top photo, again from Gerry's. In this photo is Lynne, Colin and Maggie (badges) along side Maggie at the back is Carol her sister then Roger (or is that Dodger?) her husband.
Another very well known face in the top picture is the bull, he is still there after all these years. After the bar was totally renovated last year he was given a wash and brush up and placed back on the wall looking much happier!

The next 2 photos are from my album, a few of us went down to Malgrat to see Justin Dee do his act! With Justin is Lynne's brother Geoff, a very good friend of ours who really got picked on with Justin that night, I don't think he's been back to Lloret since !!

Nicky Tams

Here's a couple more photo's from Ray McMahon of Nicky Tams, the year he says is about 84-85. Above we have Nuria, Ray, Micky and Linda. Then Micky and Ray again in the bottom pic.

Gerry's Bar

After Franks comment on yesterdays photos from Jean, heres another two with her looking better than ever on the top one. The date I have for these is 1984, and after looking all Jeans pics I'm sure Andy is right that yesterdays photos were earlier than 85'. Could it be as early as the 70s Andy ?

Dining Out !

Another 2 here from Aunty Jean with still a lot more to come from Jean !
The top one is from Hoff Van Holland 1985, and the bottom one looks like a girls night out with Jean on the left, then Maisie all bandaged up (not sure why) and Sue. The bar is the Village Inn I believe, and the year 1987.

Lloret Footballers

Some of the first photos I received for the blog were from Ann (Tea Shop) which she brought over this year. This is one of them, outside Al Capones....were you there? It looks like Omelette was, he's on the floor at the front (as usual!) with Ann behind him.

These 2 photos are from the albums in Buzzbys, the bottom one showing Phil, Rish, and Frankie with a lion cub...I wonder what happened to it ? Where was the top one taken, anybody know?

I just want to apologise to every one who tried and failed to put messages on board over the last day or so. It was my fault, I accidentally locked everyone out !

Yates Wine Lodge

Just a couple of pictures here from Pat Murphy. These date back to about 1977, in Yates Wine Lodge. A few well know faces here !

More from Jean !

The year on the top photo is 1990, and Jean is stood with Soapy who ended his time here in Lloret running La Uva with 'red' Debbie. They did turn it into an Irish bar, of which I have photos myself somewhere, I'll have to get them out!
He eventually had to return to the UK because of ill health and sadly died not long after. The photo looks like it was taken outside Sweeneys judging by the board in the background.

The 2nd photo today is another one taken in La Uva, and shows Jean with Garry & Wilma. The year on this one is 1994.

Captains Arms & La Uva

Louis at the very back behind the bar, I've not seen him for a few months now but Lynne did tell me he is still with us...but just not getting about so well these days!

Pink Maria!

After reading the hilarious tales of 'Picasso's' on the Message board here is a reminder of another popular workers abode.
Just down the road from La Uva where this was taken, was Pink Maria's. I never stayed there but I'm sure there's a few tales out there from the people who did ?
There she is far left on the first photo, which Lynne from La Uva kindly brought over this week along with a few more which I'll be putting on the blog shortly.

The next one is again is from Jean's collection, taken on Pink Maria's roof, where I believe you could get your hair cut and sleep at a reduced rate if the rooms were full !

Club 1900

Black & White days again with another of Omelete's photos from the 1900 Club in 1972, maybe a bit too far back for some to remember.

Then another photo from Jean the year she gave for this photo is 1986 and taken in Beachboys, with her very good friend Andy... he must be coz he's on nearly every photo she gave me!!
