La Uva.

Another one here sent by David Sinclair, as he describes it - "A typical workers get together from the 84' season"
One of the many bodegas in town La Uva, was run by Lynne at the very back. When she gave it up Soapy and his partner Debbie took it over. After a while Soapy took ill and returned back to the UK.
Since then the building has now been turned into a garage by Lois the owner (Yes, he is still in the land of the living!) but doesn't get about much these days!

Laurel & Hardy

This photo from the Laurel & Hardy Bar was kindly given to me by Ann (ex Tea Shop) along with a few of the names - At the front in grey is Julie, in the black top is Jackie behind her is 'Sooty'
To the middle of the photo in the black & white T-shirt is Ian.
Wearing the red top on the right is Janice, then stood behind her is Kath.

Another interesting point is the menu board - looks like the 'special of the day' meal with mashed potato was only 150 pts!

Robin Hood.

John Mcguire sent this photo of the Robin Hood end of season meal. He wanted to know if Harry who was then the manager was still about in Lloret and what he was doing these days.

Here is Steve Murphy (now of Buzzbys) and Anthony Angus...I think the bar will be the Scotch Corner?
I'm not sure about the person in the middle whether or not he was a worker, he may just have been on holiday!

Were you at the Bus Station?

Thanks to Ann (an ex worker at the Tea Shop) for this photo from the bus station.
The names she gave me are...Paul is the blond haired one on the right. Next to him, the one with the beard is Eddy. Mick in the black T-shirt on the back row, he is now working in Germany but has a home here in Lloret.
On the back row behind the person with the yellow hat, is Billy Frazer.
Middle row - On the left with the beard is Billy, Scotty with the open shirt and then Bernie next to him.

Sergeant Peppers - Lloret de mar

Today I had an email from Anthony Angus who very kindly sent some photos for the blog from the years he worked in Lloret between the years of 1983-88.

This photo below taken outside Sergeant peppers, along with Anthonys explanation of who's who!.......

......Thats me on Mark Anables shoulders, I can't remember the guy in front, I think he was there as DJ for a short while, Andy Milroy between Rosa and Sagre from Gerona.

What I like about this photo is we get a good idea of the prices of the drinks from the price list in the background. (Click on the picture to enlarge) A pint of lager for 100 pesetas and mixed spirits for 100 pts also....the good old days!!

Gerry's Bar

One of the most popular bars in Lloret de Mar was (and still is today!) Gerrys Bar, run by Gerry and Colin. From the left in this photo is Bob-one of the funniest people I have ever met in Lloret. He sadly died a few years ago.
His favourite drink was 103, and his favourite band was Pink Floyd. Last Friday night we had a Pink Floyd tribute band playing on the sea front in Lloret...which brought back memories of Bob to us all! Photos of which can be seen HERE

Sat on Bob's knee is Mary, who's husband Frank is not very well just now...we are all thinking about you Frank. Hope you get better soon!

Then in the yellow is Jean, everybodies Auntie.

Colin is behind the bar, and still is at this very moment!

I don't know the lady in white, but next to her I'm told is Rex the odd job man about town. The dog belongs to Rex.

Last but not least is Maggie, who again can still be seen in Gerry's almost every day while here on holiday!
