After a bit more messing about with the settings on the blog today I think I've managed to get the right time on any comments that are now added, the only thing is that to add a comment it opens up a small box in which you write your comments...slightly different but hopefully its now ok.
I prefer this because you don't have to open a new tab to read the comments (I know, I am lazy :o)
