Older than the usual stuff!

Just now in Lloret there is a very interesting photo exhibition on until 27th November. The photos are the property of Josep Valls which he has collected over the years. I advise anyone in Lloret to go take a look as some of the very early photos are fascinating, we got a few shots of some of the best which I thought might be of interest to regular readers of the 'Old Stuff'

So just for a change here's the first few, along with the dates -

This shows one of the buses opposite what is now the Bar Parada...so named because it was then the bus station

Thanks to  Andrew & Tracey for sending in a great selection of their photos, the first 2 we have here today ...they  worked in Lloret for one season back in 1987, Andrew worked in the Rob Roy and the Laurel & Hardy, while Tracey worked at the Music Star nightclub and also sold badges. I think this is the first time I've heard the 'Music Star' mentioned on the site - can any one remember where it was?

What a great example of the fashions we wore back in the 80s!

Here we have a new batch of photos sent in by David Buckland, if any of you were here in the early 70s you may have met David when he was working as a rep for Thomsons, I'll let David give you the full details here -

"As promised some photos from god knows when very early 70s.
The group shot is all the Lloret, Callella Thomson Lot,

El Toril photo was all the Lloret Reps in plain clothes.

The other photo is me (before John Travolta was around) on my first Airport transfer, wonder if anyone is still around?

Can any of the older workers out there recognise anyone in the photos?

And more rain ......

Still on the subject of rain.....and believe me we are now getting more than our fair share just lately, but after the long hot summer I suppose its badly needed to keep the water levels up. Debbie sent these 3 pics taken outside the Londoner after seeing the one from Malc in the previous post, they were taken in Nov 2001.

Poor Debbie & Christian say they are flooded now up in the urbanisation where they live, lets hope it eases off soon for all those in the same situation.

Three from Malc

Today we have 3 photos from Malc Coombes, the first of which taken outside La Cala 1979, in the picture are L-R ... Russel, Malc, Pete and Nigel.

For the 2nd pic Malc has give the caption "Until you've seen 4 inches of rain fall in half a hour you've not seen rain!" 

In Lloret just recently we've had rain just like that....a bit scary really especially if you get caught in it, as we did!
