Photos from Chris Blanksby

Thanks to Chris for sending theses 2 pics from 1975 and also the nice comments about the 'Old Stuff'.....
This is the email from Chris......

Nice blog – great to relive the old days in Lloret.
I have attached a couple of photos from 1975 one is at the Londoner with and one is at a crazy BBQ night.
Front row left to right at the Londoner is Kevin “Fred” Furniss – John Batty – Chris Machin –Ian Shaw ---- Back row left to right – Chris Blanksby (Me) Graeme (Gram) Rawson all from Sheffield.
The holiday in September  1975 was possibly the craziest and best holidays of my life.  I have so many memories of this holiday but the most lasting memory is that I never stopped laughing from the minute we got on the plane at East Midlands to the minute we got home again.
One vivid memory is the conga that we created in one of the bars (may have been the Londoner) that ran all the way across the bar and out into the street and into the bar across the street which  basically cleared the pub much to the disgust of the bar owners. I think we got chased down the road for that one – nearly killed myself laughing.
Anyway thanks for bringing back the happy days of my youth.

Photos from Dee.

Another new batch of photos. This time from Dee Clark.....sorry for the delay in publishing them Dee!
I'll let Dee introduced himself here..I worked in Lloret for a couple of years around '84 and repped for Cosmos and Ferris holidays...I worked in several hotels but the Don Quiote was my favorite and I drank in the Robin Hood in Fanals and of course the BBC! I've sent a couple of photos and would love to hear from anyone. I've been in touch recently with Alonso the coach driver and Martin Rutherford another Ferris and Thomsons rep. I can't believe so many ex Lloret people are still in touch!
So which is this Beach Boys or Tropicana, we had this discussion a while ago!

Remember the Donkey's?

Thanks to David for this amusing tale about the Spanish donkey souvenirs everyone took home with them....
No its not time just yet for the Bullfight? story I promised but rather I found this photo the other day... Who remembers the “Donkeys” they were so popular with some flights home having 20 donkeys along with the suitcases!! This shows a very young me presenting one at a party night as  a prize. At the beginning of the season I bought 60 yes 60 of them wholesale for the coming seasons prizes, I had to store them in my bedroom stacked on their sides one on top of the other, I used to wake up some nights with 120 luminous eyes looking at me, we won’t even go there regarding anyone coming back for a drink?
Get ready for the Bullfight saga!!! Coming next E Mail
Regards David

Marino's photos

Thank you to Mariano for sending these photos, and also for all the info with them.
The 'Canaletas' hasn't changed one bit since Mariano took his picture back in the 70s, its still one of the prettiest looking bars in Lloret!

Mariano's info....Some pictures and propaganda, first photo, the wedding, the bride, she was working with me (Foto Lloses) taken photos in night club Rosamar, second pic, I took this picture of "Canaletas"without flash and without trípod and by my opinion, it is a very good picture, in the 70´s "Canaletas"was one of the bars more importants of Lloret, the terrace of the bar was the mirror of the small city, everybody had to cross the square, the black and white picture of the Londoner, is Mariano "again"with two dutch friends and a girl friend, hasta el próximo envio,un saludo de Mariano
