Gerry's Bar

One of the most popular bars in Lloret de Mar was (and still is today!) Gerrys Bar, run by Gerry and Colin. From the left in this photo is Bob-one of the funniest people I have ever met in Lloret. He sadly died a few years ago.
His favourite drink was 103, and his favourite band was Pink Floyd. Last Friday night we had a Pink Floyd tribute band playing on the sea front in Lloret...which brought back memories of Bob to us all! Photos of which can be seen HERE

Sat on Bob's knee is Mary, who's husband Frank is not very well just now...we are all thinking about you Frank. Hope you get better soon!
Then in the yellow is Jean, everybodies Auntie.
Colin is behind the bar, and still is at this very moment!
I don't know the lady in white, but next to her I'm told is Rex the odd job man about town. The dog belongs to Rex.
Last but not least is Maggie, who again can still be seen in Gerry's almost every day while here on holiday!
Happy Holiday to Maggie, Colin and kids.

Hi Jackie,
I don't think we know each other, but I've just looked through your "Lloret de mar old stuff" web site and thought I'd say thanks for putting the site together, it is brilliant.
I worked in Lloret from 83 to 88.
One of the first jobs I had in Lloret was when the "new" Mobys' opened up. I worked with Sally in there for a couple of months. I'm so sorry to hear of her and Rish passing away. (Not to mention Chris from the Mini-bar and Rex) how sad.

It is such a blast from the past seeing all these faces on your website again.
The big group picture taken in the garden at Gerrys for example, I think thats Ronnie (ran Sweenie Todds) with the camera to his face. Jimmy (from Scotch Corner) is in the middle at the back next to the guy with the mustache who worked in Bar Ritas. I knew the girl 2nd back row, 4th from the left, she was a badge seller (for Linda I think) although I can't remember her name.
I used to eat at Gerry Bonskies, I remember the special they used to do, great value grub!

I found some old mates through Amigos reunited. I got in touch with David Sinclair who worked in Sweenies and it was him that forwarded me your web link. If you've not had a look on there, its quite good too for old photos etc.

I worked in Sgt Peppers for about five seasons for Andy Milroy, and then the last year there I was up at Scotch Corner with Stuart McKay and Stevie.
I met my wife Jane in Lloret and we're married with an 8 year old daughter now . We live in East Kilbride in Scotland.
I've been off work since June after an accident on holiday in Turkey, but I'm recovering well touch wood, and will hopefully make a full recovery by next year.

I've included some pictures for you, I thought I might add some names to some of them....
Anthony Angus.

Hi Jackie, first and foremost thanks for someone at last getting a site like this going. After working there for 5 years in a bar called Sweeny Todds I have so

many happy memories. I was so sorry to here about the passing away of Rish and Sally, as I had lots of happy times with them both. As for Bob passing away that’s real sore as myself and Bob drank copious amounts of 103 (sometimes soberano)with Floyd belting out in the back ground. Looking at all the pics I recognise nearly everyone even rex’s dog. The lady in white in the pic in Gerry’s bar I think was a Geordie lass called Leslie who worked in a few bars last one was the Piccadilly if memory serves me well. I have added a few pics from the good o’le days....

David Sinclair (a.k.a Davie uno) Sweeny Todd’s years 1984 - 1988
