Robin Hood.

John Mcguire sent this photo of the Robin Hood end of season meal. He wanted to know if Harry who was then the manager was still about in Lloret and what he was doing these days.
His email along with my reply can be read if you go to comments below this photo.

Hi Jaqui
its been a few weeks since I first contacted you asking about Alan
Hagger the photos are flooding in , I have contacted loads of people
who are over the moon with your efforts and we all eagerly await the
next photio. I have just returned from three weeks holiday in Mijas but
still checked out your blog every day. The bus station photo brought
back memories of seeing people off on the clipper bus or euro bus.
I am sending a photo of the old Robin Hood team having our end of
season meal, but what I wanted to know was if any one Knows Harry (with
the spoon) he was well established in Lloret even when I started in the
Robin Hood in 1975.
Harry was also the manager when I worked in the Western saloon (photo
already sent) .
So if anyone knows him or his surname or his whereabouts it would be
great to know.
Thanks
John
ps Thanks on behalf of all the old Lloretites

Hi John.
How was Mijas ? Hope you enjoyed it !
We always go down to that part of Spain for the winter, the weather is much better and also there's a bit more live down there. Everything is closed here as you probably know.
Did you find my blog for Costa del Sol through the links at the side of the Old Stuff blog ? http://costa-del-sol-resorts.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the photo, and yes we know Harry very well, surname Mann.
He is retired now, plays a lot of golf, does a bit of travelling...just enjoying life in general !
Next time I see him I'll mention you to him...and also ask him for some photos...why didn't I think of that before??

I'll put something on the blog tomorrow...Its Steve's (Buzzbys) 50th birthday do tonight so I'll have to dash down there now.
Should be some of the 'Old Stuff' crowd so I'll get some photo's !!!
Talk to you later.........Jackie

Hi I worked with Harry Mahon from Bootle for 6 years in the 70's. Lovely to see a photo of him again and wonder what Sandra his wife is up to. If you see him please tell him I am asking about him - Chris from Manchester (my boyfriend at the time who later I married was Jimmy Mac from Swansea)

Hi Chris, Harry & Sandra are both now retired,so I dont see much of them. They went on a Med cruise at the begining of last year, which they loved!I know they have Sandra's mother living with them to save Sandra having to spend so much time travelling backwards & forwards to the UK, and sometimes see them pushing the wheelchair along the sea front in Fenals, so next time I see them I'll Mention your name! Thanks for the comment.

Hi Jackie, thanks for your prompt reply. I will be coming over to LLoret this year maybe May/June, the first time back for over 20 years. I would love to catch up with Sandra and Harry when I'm there, any suggestions ??? Me and Jim who was known as Jimmy Mac worked with Harry in 1973 and 1974 in the Captains Cabin in Fenals. The winter of 1974 we helped build the Robin Hood which was in the cellar underneath the Cabin and the restaurant. In 1977 we managed the Cutty Sark in Lloret before coming back in 1978 and 1979 to manage the Robin Hood. Harry by now was manager of the Western Saloon. All of these bars were owned by Freddie Puigmarti (he had an english wife Nannette) who incidently owned and opened the first english bar in Lloret namely the Captains Arms. I could go on and on but I wont bore you any more lol!!!

Hi Again Chris, I am staying on the Costa del Sol until late March so I wont see Harry for a while. The best place to catch him is in Gerrys Bonsky Bar...Remember? He tends to go in there most lunch times for a quick drink and a read of the paper....then winds everyone up before leaving !
I'll try to catch him or get a message to him when we get back to Lloret.

I recognise some of those faces with John, think I see Mick Sparks, Knocker, Harry.

Where are you John McGuire and what happened to Paul Andrews. Last time I saw you 2 we had a meal on a barge in Bedford.
