Don't know where Boxer Boy gets the names.Front row left to right Francisco,Kevin,Sally, and Juan.Others are Dean(white cap)and Guy(tash).Dunno the rest.
ur rite thats kevin next to sally.always remember him cos apart from bein a mate he sacked me that year!think i deserved it tho.worked in the bucc for him in 82-83 and also the white horse in late 82.great days and fantastic memories.
First negative comments, you did'nt get out much after work then did you, were'nt you ever invited to the many workers parties that went on.
Made some of the best friends and met some of the best people i've ever known over there.Wasn't no party pooper either, was the most exciting time in my life.Still feels exceptional even now.Just didnt go round pretendin everybody was my best mate. Also,my point was i dont think sally got enough respect.Thats the problem with having selective friends, you tend to care about them.
zzzzzzzzzzzWhy dont you's put your name's on the page
Hey Frank, wake up,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.Sent you a friends request on facebook, except it then you can see the mad pics from BarOne,Scoo amd Max are on there 2.
John.
It'sdone John
How are you mr negativity I think you have a wee bit of gripe for some reason. We all met some dodgy geezers over there and still do to this day.About your freind Sally I for one never met her i bet she was a smashing girl to work with .But dont think anybody was not giving her any respect because maybe they didnt know her.Stick your name on the page
Every one has a past no hiding from that.I am fairly young52 i went to Lloret in 1978 but you know what it is like a lot of faces .I was there on and off for ten year's As for the (ugly)ladies i for one never met any thanks to the san Migs and 103
We must have crossed paths many times frank.possibly even had a laugh too.i done five full seasons in the 80's and i'm 47 now.
you have to send in some pictures to Jackie
Hey Neggie I bet I know you, wish you'd put a name.I worked feb 78 making badges for Ted Law then went on to work in the West Coast until end Sept, finished the season in the Laurel and Hardy.79 worked Laurel and winter of 80 worked helping Jimmy Rockefeller do up Rockefellers.80 and 81 was manager there til headhunted by Dave Boats to run the Beach Boys Club,(who'd say no to Boatsie) apart from the money and bonus on offer, did that till end 83 then me the bubble and Boats opened Club Tropicana in Malgrat de Mas in 84 so you where deffo in Lloret when I was.All this blah blah is to jog your memory in the hope you might remember me,this site has brought so many people back together I think you should be one of them and you knew Sally so well like I did I must know you and I'm sure your old friends would like to here from you as well.
John Stanley.
Sally was a very good friend of mine, and every time I visited lloret I always made a point of meeting up with her, even if it was just for a short while. She came to Thorne to stay with me with Rich when they first started going out together and even arrived a few days after my daughter was born. Everyone got drunk (apart from me) and rich always kept the photo behind the bar in Buzbys. Mr. Neg, I think you have got hold of the wrong end of the stick on this site. Why not go onto 'Who am I and where did I work', you never know, there will be lots of people on the site who know you and remember you.
Neggie we love you, come out from behind that wall.
John-
sorry anon you are right on Kevin, dunno where I got Gary from!! The fella in white cap is Rob (not dean), cause hes still a pal of mine.
That's you cornered now Mr Neggie all the best pal
Boxer Boy did u work in the Bucc?
friends of Bucc workers, i was white horse.
I used to drink in the Bucc every night back then and i was thinking, because of your name and your pics, that you and your mate Rob were the two lads who were known as the boxer boys. Not sure now cos i think those boys were tourists.
Coming back to me a bit more now.Think they were on holiday and came back to work.Is it you?Hope so cos them boys were ok and well thought of in the Bucc.
You are right Calum, as many i guess we started out as punters and fell in love with the place and started working there. There was 3 of us to start then just 2 we dressed like the band Joe Boxers!! Thanks for the kind words, put a pic up to see if i remember you? We also worked on Jimmys house in the mountains, did anyone go to the launch pool party?
It was magic seeing your photos cos they took me right back to 83 and all the good times i had in there.More i thought of it and your name i started to get flashbacks of some boys dancing like crazy on the Bucc dancefloor. If i remember right,Kevin, who didnt play requests(and never for blokes)would throw on Jo Boxers as soon as you walked in and you'd go mental.Seem to remember this happening loads of nights so thats why i wasnt sure if you were tourists or workers.Like you,i was made welcome in there and had lots of pics, some great ones behind the bar,but unfortunately lost them some years back.Been looking at this site for ages waiting to see that crowd again.Sally was like my own personal barmaid and had me in stitches with the things she'd say and if i was ever short Kevin would just chalk up a slate for me,no questions asked.Even got included in a few staff Jaigermaister line ups.Crazy times i'll never forget and thats why your photos were so good.Just seen your new ones on the site and if you've anymore from the bucc send them in.
Been trying to work out if I remember you Callum, were you touring around resorts a bit with a mate of yours around that time?
Crazy times indeed mate, wish I was that carefree still! Chuffed you remember us, thanks!
Found a couple more pics and will post soon.
Was there with a friend but didnt travel around.Went to have a bit of a blast before going to Uni and helped out in my aunts restaurant during the day. Can't recall speaking to you or Rob, as I was a bit in awe of your bottle, but think everyone who seen you dance will remember it.Spectacular stuff!Reminded me of northern soul and the old clips of Wigan Casino. Why you worked in the White Horse, which i thought was an old mans pub,is beyond me.It was obvious you were both well liked in the Bucc and with all that high energy would have gone down a storm in there.Shame.Hope you and Rob are well and its great,if slightly trippy,to chat after all these years.
Ha ha! Still involved with N Soul, mostly DJin these days rather than throwing myself round a dance floor!
Keep in touch on here mate as I am gonna send Jackie some more pics soon.
Best
Paul
I worked there the same year - with Francisco/Juan/Kevin and Grant was the floor manager. I'm Kim - there was another girl (blonde, bubbly hair) but I can't remember her name.....!!!
