More from Shuggie

The first of Shuggie's photos features Yates Wine Lodge in 1976, but what was the name of the bar in the second photo with the large collection of beer mats on the wall?

I can't remember the name of the Bar before you ask Shuggie but it is nice to see wee Bryce. What a character he was, but murder to live with lol.

He wasn't exactly the best barman I ever gave a job to either Jill,,, But God didn't we all love him.
I may need to put something about Bryce in "Memories"

Did that little pub have "Rose in the name?
I think it was on one of the little streets leading to the beach.

Yeah, the woman he bought off lives here in Los Boliches, what a small world, she's 82 now.Her husband died in Lloret and is buried there, she wants to go over to visit his grave so I told her about the reunion it could be a good time for her to go over, she knows a lot of people that are still there so we could have our oldest worker at the reunion.

Ageism is not liking old people.Senile dementia or alzheimers would have been better my son.

This is definately the "Rose and Crown." I played guitar there in 1977. The bosses name was Ron but I never met his son. The bar was in Calle de los Limones which has been re-christaned in Catalan. I remember the "Duke of York" was in the same street and another bar (I can't remember the name) owned by a very loud German woman and her very tame Scottish husband/partner.
Roy aka Sangria Syd

I'll have to correct the above statement, it was the "Prince of Wales" not the "Duke of York."
I remember Alan often used to stagger into the Rose and Crown about midday for his medicine following and all night bender. This "medicine" was normally a weapons grade alchoholic drink.
I'll always owe it to Alan who told me about the job going as an entertainer at the beach parties in 1983. I believe they are still advertising, Roy
