Second one down, Captain Spalding himself. Unfortunately, I don't get me new specs till tomorrow and am struggling to see the top one properly. Old age is creeping in
2nd pic guy on the left, minds blank but think his name is kenny was manager of robroy 79.If it's who I think it is I stayed with him for 2 months up in Bucksburn Aberdeen selling Holy Reefs down the market called The Green.Froze me nuts off it was so cold, survived the day on coffee and wee drams from the pub opposite the stall we had.How bad of me not remembering his name when I lived with him for a while, we made a small fortune as well, americans couldn`t get enuff of the stuff, they cost 30p to make and we sold them for a fiver. We had to go into the forrest to get the moss, holy and berries, all we bought were the frames,Del Boy would be proud.Spent that new year in Burns Hough in Bath Street Glasgow blotto with all the lads, went to an old firm game as well, lovely jubbly. John.
Nice story John, unfortunately you have got the wrong guy. That is Tommy Spalding who at the time sung with Martins band in the Londoner. Well Frank, Vere & I certainly wouldn't have won any Mr Universe contests. I have just sent Veres brother, Billys e-mail address to Zac Greenaway, if you know him. Top pic isn't the best quality sorry but There are a few old faces in there, Tommy, smooth as ever, Tommy Spalding, Frank (Sledghammer) Eddie Stewart, Billy Beads (Woods) & I think that may be Frankie (Paco) Murray behind Eddie.
Hello John, Shuggie, Frankie and of course Jill, Yeah I remember Eddie Kemp didn't he manage the highlander, we used to always worry about how much weight he lost during the season,
The last I heard Eddie was back in Aberdeen. He use to share a flat with us, when he was living with Ria, his dutch girlfriend at the time who was a big friend of Gerry Marshall's. He ran the Rob Roy for quite a lot of years, I worked for him for a while one year, he was a smashing fella. I think at one time he did manage the Highlander too Pat. He use to look after all us young ones.
