Remember the Donkey's?

Thanks to David for this amusing tale about the Spanish donkey souvenirs everyone took home with them....
No its not time just yet for the Bullfight? story I promised but rather I found this photo the other day... Who remembers the “Donkeys” they were so popular with some flights home having 20 donkeys along with the suitcases!! This shows a very young me presenting one at a party night as  a prize. At the beginning of the season I bought 60 yes 60 of them wholesale for the coming seasons prizes, I had to store them in my bedroom stacked on their sides one on top of the other, I used to wake up some nights with 120 luminous eyes looking at me, we won’t even go there regarding anyone coming back for a drink?
Get ready for the Bullfight saga!!! Coming next E Mail
Regards David

I was on a flight and you could see out of the window that the baggage trolly's had more donkey's on them than cases, wonder who decided enuff was enuff or was the british household so full of them that no one bought them anymore.
Anyone remember their photo being taken at the bottom of the stairs when you got off the plane on landing, still got mine, gerona airport,1969.

Has anybody out there still got one? send a photo if you have jackiereindl@gmail. I can always remember when we were once coming to Lloret on holiday, we were at Manchester airport and Jasper Carrot was there filming his comedy show (thats a few years ago now!!) They were actually filming him and a couple of other actors in a car which screeched to a halt outside the airport arrivals and hanging out of the windows and car boot were several of the donkeys which they were wrestling with to get out of the car along with their luggage and then had to dash to get their flight supposedly taking the donkeys to Spain with them. They had to do several takes as they were all laughing that much...the airport was in uproar!
It must be on line somewhere I'll have to have a look on You Tube

The problem with the Donkeys Jackie was they were poorly made (stapled together in the middle) and the first grand child to leap on one ended up on the floor with 2 halves of a donkey.

WANTED - SPANISH SOUVENIR DONKEY
********************************

I know this is a long shot, but I am in a local amateur dramatic group and we are putting on a play called Holiday Snap. It would be great if we could source one of these donkeys as a prop.

If you cannot bare to part with yours then could we borrow one?

If you do then please email me
s.lepley @ tiscali. co. uk

Thanks in advance.
