More from Sue.


One of the photos from Sue today goes back to 1971 which could be a  bit early for most readers out there to remember. The top one with Stevie and Rish in Buzzbys is far more recent...its even in colour!
What year would this be, late 90s or so?

Cant remember when the photo of rish and steve was taken as you say could be late 90's or early 2000
2nd photo was taken in the cockney pride, there's me, maggie who worked behind the bar in maxims, lionel, and pauline who worked for richard in the 007.
lionel worked behind the bar in the cockney pride, there was also pensions above, that a lot of workers stayed in.

What a great old photo that is of the Cockney Pride, made me think does anyone know what was the first ever English Pub to open in Lloret was and when ?

I think Tony Batey's Barcelona bar was the first one in the area, in the late 60's,early 70s... (just writing from vaguely remembering random conversations, will have to check) and have an idea hi Rabbie Burns may have been the first in Lloret?

Hi John, About your question of the 1st pub in Lloret...I spoke to Tony Batey today, he said he opened the first English pub in Lloret....The Captains Arms 1963. If you look in the side column under the 'Featured Pubs' heading you can click on a link for the Captains Arms and it will take you to 7 different pieces about the pub here on the site.
