Istanbul Disco 1970

 Thanks to Mariano for the photos which I just received this morning . This is  a copy of Mariano's email
....I was working in Lloret about eight years in Foto Cine LLoses,the first three years (1970,71,72) taken pictures in the most popular pubs and discotheques of LLoret,Captains Arms,Corner Inn,PP,s disco,White Horse,West Coast,Jamaica Tavern,Moef ga-ga,Western Saloon,Londoner,Istambul disco,Topo'T'Top,and sometimes Revolution, Maxim's, Saint Trop,Moby Dick,El Toril,Maritim, etc.doing this job, I had the oportunity of to meet a lot of people of many countrys and a lot of workers from England and Scotland, from your blog, I want to send greetings to all and specially to the friends, girls and boys, who was working wiht me in Foto LLoses, and the best wishes to everybody. I'm Mariano from Zaragoza. I send to the blog four pictures, the first one from Istambul disco(1970) the second from the West Coast(1971)

The next one down features 'Good on ya Bob' back in the 70s. He was here for his birthday over the weekend,,,a great night in Rabbies last Friday night!

3 From Colin Today.

 Thanks to Colin who brought some great photos over when he was here for short break with his old friends Jack, Fred and Ray. I have a few names for the first of todays pics taken outside the Istanbul..Andy, Colin,Ruth, Terry and Monte. The 2nd photo is from 1969 and is the 'Workers Olympics'

The 3rd photo is from 1973 and features Chris who was the manager of La Cala.

(I'm not sure which one he is though!)

In Istanbul, myself on left a friend  (of Jimmy Brennan who worked in topos with me) called Peter in middle a guy called Terry at front from Liverpool and ladies from Birmingham,, next one myself in middle Lennie ( club manager) next to me, but cannot remember other guys name I think he didnt work in topos long the lovely ladies were from Holland the one next to me was called Ans this was taken in the disco entrance Im sure this was 1976.

Colin's Photos

 It was nice to meet up with Colin, Fred , Jack and Ray when they were here for their mini reunion last week. Colin brought lots of his photos with him for the 'Old Stuff'

For the top one taken in1971 he gave me some names and they are - Jack Sharpe, Pat Sullivan and a club owner from Coventry  George Henry. In the second photo is Jack, Sue, Terry, John and Roddy. This was taken at a fancy dress event in the Istanbul club.....Colin told me that just after this photo was taken the police came in and started beating every one with their batons or whatever it was they used in those days, simply because fancy dress was not allowed!
