Laurel & Hardy's

Two more from (Auntie) Jeans photo albums the first is 1981 & the 2nd 1987. In the top photo outside Laurel & Hardy's, she is on the front row with the Union Jack bag.
The others in the picture....... I'm sure someone can name a few ??

Then another photo from the bus-station, looks like she was travelling back home with Bob (103!) that year.
What a laugh that must have been, for the other passengers that is!

Bob was one of the best, always had a smile on his face.

I'm not sure where this was taken or when, (mid 80s?) but there's quite a few well known faces here.
Just to name a few, Ann (ex Tea Shop) Frankie, Jimmy Rockerfeller, Steve and ???

The Londoner, Lloret de Mar 1978

Thanks to Joan, for sending these photos through. I met Joan in Gerry's when she was here with two friends last week who all worked out here years ago and Joan said she would send some photos for the site. Joan's maiden name was Winters and she worked in Rosy's restaurant on San Pedro. Here are two of the photos she sent along with the names she gave.

''First picture was taken when the world cup was on in 1978 at the far back I think with his two hands in the air is Brian next to him Alex Miller in front of him Colin, Stewart , ? ,? ,??, Andy Anderson, don't know who the girl is at the end with the flag. Ian anderson with the tartan bunnet on Stevie Lynch, Kenny, Andy Milroy, Chico and Willie Archibald. Maybe someone out there can fill in the blanks ?
Second picture was taken in 1980 showing the beach and how much it has changed since then , it's not the best picture but it might be of use to you.''

The Badge Sellers!

Another photo from Jean, there she is at the back in blue. Its taken at the bus station, so my guess is that Jean was travelling back home that day. How many more places other than Lloret where that would happen?
Whenever you arrived or went back home there was always some one there to meet you!
Also in the photo is Big Al at the front, from left to right is Rona, Jean and then two of Maggie & Colins badge sellers Debbie & Mary.

A not so old beach scene, not looking much different today.

Gerry's Bar

Two photos from Colin & Maggie's album. The top one looks as though it was taken outside Gerry's. Colin at the back with Sales (I think) on the right.

A regular visitor to Gerry's in the mid 80s was the Danish footballer Micheal Laudrup (bottom photo on the left) he later went on to play for Barcelona in 1989-94.

Sergeant Peppers

Since I started this site I've had lots of good feed back from everyone, and where ever I go in Lloret people always have something to say about the latest photo! Just recently I've seen Stuart (from Homers) who has been trying to put a comment on for Angus, but without success so far. If any one has the same problem an alternative way to get your message across is to just go to the top of left hand column and click on where it says - 'View my complete profile' you can then contact me by Email, and forward any message to me. I'll then put your comments in the blog for you.

These photos were sent in (via email) by Anthony Angus a while ago, along with details of each photo, and also a brief description of what he is doing these days!

''Inside Sgt Peppers the year before it was refurbished. The womans name was Carmen, and the guy with the tartan sash was Jack from Edinburgh (I'm sure you'll remember him, he worked in the kitchen in the Pic for years. He died suddenly outside Sgt Peppers one night) We went to meet his parents in Edinburgh afterwards which was not nice, but I'm sure they appreciated it''

''I worked in Sgt Peppers for about five seasons for Andy Milroy, and then the last year there I was up at Scotch Corner with Stuart McKay and Stevie.
I met my wife Jane in Lloret and we're married with an 8 year old daughter now . We live in East Kilbride in Scotland.
I've been off work since June after an accident on holiday in Turkey, but I'm recovering well touch wood, and will hopefully make a full recovery by next year.''
