Thanks to Pauline for bringing some of her photos over to Lloret this weekend for me to put on the blog. With the two published here today we travel back to 1971, easily recognised in the top photo are Pauline herself 2nd from the right and then Gerry stood next to her.

Lloret´s farewell to Stevie!

 It was Lloret´s turn to say goodbye to Stevie last night, And what a night it was.

There were a few tears but also lots of laughs!

 Many of his friends had travelled from the UK to join Stevie's family for one last night in Buzzbys. The bar was opened at 6pm where we all gathered before walking down to Fenals beach where after a few words from Andrew his ashes were scattered. We then layed a dozen yellow roses on the same spot,  a huge round of applause from everyone there then followed! After a few minutes we all then made our way back to the bar and had a great night as you could only ever do in Buzzby's!

Buzzbys , The end of an era!

 Buzzbys doors will be open tonight for the last time.

Stevie´s family have put a notice on the door to welcome all his friends for a goodbye drink.

Here are just a few photos from Sue looking back to some of the good times and memories we all have of Buzzby's with Rish and Stevie.

If you read this Phil, I'll get them packed up and sent back to you possibly tomorrow, I just got back to Lloret last night!

"I have just found this old photo taken in the Moby Dick in 1977 with myself, my friend Rita (on the right of Ricky) and Ricky Bennett himself.  I think it was his second year there.  We were only on a two week holiday.  However, I did go on to meet and eventually marry Terry (Sniff) Millen but thought this would be a good one for the website.  My friend met Peter Stewart (Gas Meter) whilst we were there and travelled to Scotland quite a few times after to see him when we got back – great times."

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who brought photos to Stevie's funeral for me to put on the blog, as soon as I get back to Lloret I'll be able to scan them after which I will be able to post them straight back, also thanks to those who said they would send photos.

Update on Stevie

Now that Stevie's funeral has taken place back in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire a celebration of Stevie's life will be held in Lloret on 26th March. We've have just got back today from the funeral, and there must have 200 + in the church and at the Club afterwards, what a great send off he had! Photos of flowers can be seen over on Buzzby's web page.

New Comments on Old Stuff

We sometimes get comments added to the Old Stuff photos which have been on the site for several months so they may not always be seen if regular readers dont go back over the older pages. So I've added a new feature which should show the last 10 comments placed on the blog, scroll down the page to find it in the side column then click on the link for the post. Thanks to Jill for coming up with the idea and asking if it would be possible to implement it on the site.

Nice site of the old times in Lloret.

I'm Brian Murray (most people know me as "the Vicar") my name in Lloret.

I worked there fm 1979 till 1983 in Bar Gloria.

Here attached is one of the many foto's i have, made by Ramon.

I was one of his best customers.

In the foto you see Neil and Joan fm Sunderland, still together.

Still in contact with them. I live in Holland now, and still in kontakt with "dutch Vera" (fm the Zoo)

Neil worked in the Texas Burger and Joan was a babysitter.

And the other man in the foto we all know as Franky.
